During renovation to its world headquarters, Nu Skin added a 154,000 square foot, six-story Innovations Center connected to the corporate office tower by a 20,000 square foot three-story glass atrium. A new 270-stall, below-grade parking structure was added, and the project was completed with an 18,000 square foot two-story glass, state-of-the-art Pavilion.
As part of the campus renovation and expansion, Intermountain Plantings assisted in extensive landscape improvements. Since a significant portion of the landscape was above the parking garage, Intermountain Plantings selected and installed a custom mixed Utelite soil for its lightweight properties and maximum drainage capabilities. Due to limited access, we transported the soil to the site via Telebelt. In other areas of the property, we installed turf fiber in the top three inches of soil to achieve a fire lane rating, allowing vehicle access over the grass without significant damage to the underlying soil structure. In addition, Intermountain Plantings worked with the contractor to install Silva Cells under hardscape, to expand root growth zones, and ensure long-term health and viability of tree installations.
