This former brownfield site utilized testing protocols and contaminated soil management to ensure the proper cleanup and repurposing of the area. Intermountain Plantings placed a 12-inch clay cap over the existing soil. With sustainability in mind, we installed about 20,000 square feet of turf on the grounds and a drought-tolerant xeriscape. Through value engineering, Intermountain Plantings saved the owners over $300,000 in irrigation system costs. The use of this system was ahead of its time in Utah when finished in 2007.
